We’re all human.
Being human is strange, cruel, intimidating and over-bearing yet insightful, beautiful, ambitious and unique.
No two humans are the same, our DNA makes us, us. No one asked to be delivered into this world but here we all are.
I’ll start you off with one of my favourite quotes –
“Just because the person in the bed next to you is in a full body cast doesn’t mean your broken arm doesn’t hurt.”
Let that resonate with you for a moment. Really let the words sink in and understand what that means. You can be the strongest person in the room but battling a world of demons. Everyone hurts at some point, and no matter what someone is going through it does not mean that your problems should be any less important. I have no idea where that quote originates from, but what I do know is that it’s true.
Mental health, such a tricky subject isn’t it? So many different factors can manipulate the way we view mental health. Not to generalise a whole age group, but I’ve seen middle aged women and men cast it aside and reflect on how life was when they were my age, and how there was no such thing as mental health issues, we all just got along with life and how the youth of today are all precious little snowflakes. It makes me want to scream and cry, but instead I’ll write a blog and hope that my words and my outlook will help at least one person who is feeling the way I used to and still do. Mental health has such a ludicrous stigma attached to it, people who suffer are perceived as weak. You are NOT weak, those who believe you are come under that category.
Please follow me on my journey to empower all genders, all races and all humans.
Welcome to my world.
